Weekly Challenge 4 – Water and Our Third Set of Pinkies Projects

Thanks to this week’s migraine I got a bit confused and muddled the posts up, so today is the Wednesday challenge 😆

For a challenge about water, it seemed fitting to use watercolour paper and this stamp set was one of my favourite sets from the 2019/2020 catalogue and of course we needed to add some Wink of Stella to add some sparkle to the water.

Our third set of projects from the Pinkies Weekend were designed by Stacey Marsh. Stacey designed two lovely projects for us to make, but I had a problem. Stacey used the Trimming the Town Suite from the August – December 2020 Mini Catalogue and as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I probably shouldn’t admit this, but I just didn’t like it at all. I really, really wanted to make the projects, so I decided to put my own spin on them. To see Stacey’s Sampler visit her blog at http://www.staceymarsh.co.uk.

I love the fact that the Pinkies Weekend has given me the opportunity to make some new homemade decorations. Why not share some of your favourite decorations.

Until next time, happy crafting

2021 Calendar and another Pinkies’ Project

I am a few hours later with this blog because I had a migraine that wiped me out for a day. I still have a lingering headache, but I was determined to get it out today 😀

Today’s project was another one that I had designed using the Snowflake Splendor paper, but as a Calendar is designed to last all year I didn’t want to use a Snowflake to decorate it, so went for a flower instead.

Snowflake Splendor Suite – August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue page 37

Calendar Base – Highland Heather Cardstock 11 1/4″ x 4″ scored on the long side @ 4 1/2″, 9″, 9 3/4″ and 10 1/2″
1st layer – Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
Outside of flower – Highland Heather Cardstock 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″
Inside of flower – Pool Party Cardstock 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″
Calendar 2 3/4″ x 1 3/4″

The second project from the Pinkies weekend that I am sharing, is from Martin Stone, who does some wonderful projects. Stampin’ Up have chosen Martin as one of the demonstrators featured in the 2020 artisan design team. You can visit Martin’s page at Martin’s Mayhem – Papercrafter. As you probably know I love a messy craft and this one was no exception. I had great fun with it.

Today, I have a card that combines the Curvy Dies with the beautiful Snowflake Splendor Suite. The papers are beautiful and I love the mix of blues and purples. This was one card based on the suite that I had designed for a class which sadly didn’t go ahead.

This weekend I took part in the Pinkies Team Weekend and over the next few posts I will be sharing some of the amazing projects that were created for us. Team leader Michelle Last put on an amazing weekend of crafting and chat (despite the fact that she was still recovering from Covid) and we all had a fabulous time. Today’s projects were designed by Kim Price. They are a beautiful Christmas organiser which contained a covered notepad, Christmas Card list and Christmas tags (I haven’t finished those yet) and a lovely wreath made with a polystyrene base and covered with strips of Designer Series Paper. I changed the colour of the wreath to match my decor as Kim’s used the same beautiful First Frost designer series paper as the organiser. Kim’s Christmas organiser had a beautiful snowglobe on the front, but unfortunately I realised I don’t have anything to go in a snowglobe 😢 I will definitely be making another organiser for Birthdays 😀 Please go and visit Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Kim Price (handmadebykim.co.uk) to see all her beautiful projects.

Until next time, happy crafting

Curvy Christmas

This week I have had quite a lot of headaches and have been staying off my electricals as much as possible, so have gone back to listening to stories on Audible. I am currently re-listening to the Rivers Of London series by Ben Aaronovitch. I love those books and they make me laugh out loud. What do you listen to whilst you are crafting or doing other things?

As I told you last week we had a Pootlers Team Celebration and I am now going to share with the you the projects that I made. Please check out the blogs of their creators by clicking on the projects.

The first set of projects were designed by Pootles herself, our Team leader, Sam Hammond Donald. Sam gave us a Wink of Stella and we learnt several techniques to use it, which I am sure you will find on her blog.

This next project was designed by my upline Deborah Toner, otherwise known as Debsydaisy. Unfortunately, Debs has not been updating her blog as much as she would like due to various responsibilities, but once she moves house (hopefully by Christmas), she will begin blogging again.

Joanne Penney is our next designer. She got us to make a beautiful album using the backing card from our embellishments. The project also included sewing using the holes from the curvy dies which I thought was very clever.

Finally, we have a simple, but effective Project from Hillery Schaad using basic shapes.

Weekly Challenge 3 – One Sheet Wonder

Been a strange few days. My daughter developed a cough, but getting a test was easier said than done, it took us four attempts 😆. The whole family had to self-isolate, but thankfully her test came back negative. To be honest as much as I love my family, I am glad that they can all go back to school, college and training. Three autistic adult family members and a teenage boy at home with 3 PlayStations, an Xbox, a laptop, an iPad and various phones going at once, the Wi-Fi struggles and costs a fortune in electricity, not to mention the noise, which even the sound sensitive ones among them don’t seem to notice. Wrong sort of sound 😆

The challenge this week is a one sheet wonder. I have decided to turn mine into cards.
