Gold Dragonfly Card

I wish this weather would make up it’s mind. I don’t know what to pack for my trip. I have lovely new summer dresses that I bought when the weather was hot, but now I’m thinking I may need more weather-proof clothes. Although I am always hot, so I end up taking my coat off. Do they do waterproof summer dresses? 😆

Dragonfly garden Bundle – Annual Catalogue 2021/2022 page 23

Base Card – Basic Black cardstock 8 1/4″ x 5 7/8″ scored and folded @ 4 1/8″
1st layer – Be Dazzling Specialty Paper 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″
2nd Layer – Basic Layer – Basic Black Cardstock 5 1/4″ x 3 1/2″

Inside layer – Basic White Cardstock 5 5/8″ x 3/7″

The dragonflies were heat embossed in Gold embossing powder.

The Be Dazzling Speciality Paper is free when you place an order of £45 or more during Sale-a-bration. I wasn’t sure I would like it when I saw it in the catalogue, but when I saw it for real, I loved it. Someone I know described it as like an eighties boob tube material and it is, but it’s great 😆

We have a great joining offer during Sale-a-bration too.

Christmas in July- Emboss Resist Snowflake Card

My daughter has got Corvid and is at home with her two small children. We are also self-isolating as she had visited us the day before. We are talking a lot by video messenger. Today’s card is the result of asking my grandchildren what colour my snowflake card should be. My 6 year-old granddaughter said blue and my 3 year-old grandson said pink😀

Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set – Annual Catalogue 2021/2022 page 90

Card Base – Balmy Blue 8 1/4″ x 5 7/8″ scored and folded @ 4 1/8″
1st layer – Basic White 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″
Sentiment – Balmy Blue 3 1/2″ x 1″

Inside Layer – Basic White 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″

The snowflakes were stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I then used sponge daubers to add colour to the card.

The sentiment was stamped in Whisper White ink and then fussy cut.

They have promised us some cooler weather, so I may get around to doing some more crafting. It’s been too hot to do anything 😀

Until next time, happy crafting

Christmas in July – Poinsettia Card

This is the first project in my Christmas in July series. I love Christmas and with the release of the mini catalogue next month, it is the perfect excuse to make some Christmassy projects 😃

Poinsettia Petals and Poinsettia Dies – Annual Catalogue 2021/2022 pages 92 and 165

Base Card – Mossy Meadow cardstock 8 1/4″ x 5 7/8″ scored and folded @4 1/8″
1st layer – Basic White Cardstock 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″
Poinsettias – Real Red Cardstock 8″ x 3 1/2″
Leaves – Mossy Meadow Cardstock 15″ x 3″
Label – Mossy Meadow Cardstock 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Inside Layer – Basic White Cardstock 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″

The background is stamped with the Birch stamp. I used the Stamparatus to stamp the image.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in copper.

I love Poinsettias and the dies add such texture to the flowers, making them look more life like. In the new mini catalogue we have the red velvet paper making a comeback which will be perfect for these.

On Tuesday, I will be bringing you a project from our new mini catalogue.

Until next time, happy crafting

Butterfly Wishes Joseph’s Coat Technique

This is an old technique, but brand new to me. I saw Bruno Bertucci doing this and I had to try it. You can see his video here . I had great fun, but got very messy 😆

Butterfly Wishes – Annual Catalogue 2020/2021 page 16

Card base – Basic Black Cardstock 8 1/4″ x 5 7/8″
Layer 1 – Melon Mambo Cardstock 5 3/4″ x 4″
Layer 2 – Whisper White Cardstock 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″

Inside
Layer 1 – Melon Mambo Cardstock 5 3/4″ x 4″
Layer 2 – Whisper White Cardstock 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″

Whisper White Envelope
Magenta Madness Ribbon 6 1/2″

What is your favourite technique? Do you love a messy Technique or hate it? For me as a mum of five (eldest is 28 and youngest is 13), Grandma of two littles ones, aged 5 and almost 3 and a Rainbow Guider (Youngest members of Girlguiding UK at 5-7 year olds), mess comes with the territory. I have always enjoyed messy crafts and projects, but my husband who is autistic hates mess. It’s a miracle we have been married for 25 years 😆
