Special Someone

This is me playing at doing backgrounds. Not entirely happy with the finished product and I am sure you could do much better, but am so in love with these cute critters, even more so now they have released the co-ordinating dies and I don’t have to fussy cut 🙂

We will start by doing our background.
With a sponge dauber blend balmy blue and granny apple green to make the sky and the grass. Leave to dry

Stamp the raccoon, squirrel and mouse on some scrap Whisper White Cardstock.
These are two step stamps, so you stamp the detailed stamp and then add additional colour with the second stamp.

For the Raccoon I used Black and Sahara Sand.

For the squirrel, I used Cajun Craze and Grey Granite

I only single stamped the mouse in Smoky Slate as I preferred it that way.

Stamp the Happy Birthday leaving enough space to cut it out with the speech die.

Die cut out your animals, sentiment, flower, bow and several flowers in various colours and the grass in Granny Apple Green.

With a sponge dauber, add some Granny Apple Green around the feet of the animals and some Balmy Blue around the edge of your sentiment.

We can now assemble the front of the card.

Attach the front layer to your card.

Add the grass to the bottom edge on the front layer.

Place your characters and sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add the flower and bow to the raccoon.

The flowers can then be spread along the grass edging.

Finally, stamp some butterflies.

I will be making some more cards with this set in a style I am more comfortable with, but in the meantime, why not share with me some of your backgrounds for this set?
Until next time, happy crafting
